I use my personal media drive in my z545 constantly, but recently the fan has begun making a serious racket.  Any tips on correcting this?

On either side of the drive enclosure are two long black plastic strips.  Pull them straight back which allows you to split it in two.  Check to see if there is a dust buildup in the fan blades or housing.  Clean as approriate, re-assemble and test.
