Outlook 2013 will randomly start displaying user photos when looking at
e-mails. It pulls these from Skype, which Microsoft has now tendrilled into
Outlook.

To stop this behaviour:

change the registry key
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\IM Providers
and rename the DefaultIMApp key value from Skype to Skype2 or something like that.
